NH Fuse Holder Guide

There are two common types of fuse holder designed to fit NH Fuses. Learn more about NH Fuses.

1. NH Fuse Bases

Where can I buy an NH Fuse Base?

We sell NH fuse bases to suit NH fuses (size 000 to 4).
You can purchase online or contact our friendly sales staff for assistance.

Construction of an NH Fuse Base

Our range of NH fuse bases feature a thermoplastic base, which is highly temperature resistant and made from self-extinguishing material. Each base has 2 silver plated copper clips that provide a firm contact to the metal blades of the fuse. Electrical cables are connected to the metal studs on the base and secured by a nut and spring washer.

NH Fuse Base Pole Configurations

NH fuse bases can be purchased in single pole or multi-pole configurations. Our range of NH bases are gangable, meaning you can interlock multiple fuse bases together in a side by side configuration. The most common fuse base configurations are single pole or three pole.

IP20 Protection for NH Fuse Bases

The NH bases are sold as open air units, however, optional protection kits are available to ensure that fingers do not come into contact with electricity flowing through the fuse and base. These kits include clip-on phase barriers, terminal shrouds and fuse covers. When fully assembled, the fuse and holder is completely enclosed to achieve an IP 20 protection rating.

Mounting an NH Fuse Base

NH fuse bases can be surface mounted by using several screws or bolts to secure the Nh fuse base(s) to a panel. Some models are also designed for mounting on a DIN rail. Be careful when buying an NH fuse base to ensure it meets your mounting requirement.

2. NH Disconnect Switches

Where can I buy a NH Disconnect Switch?

We sell NH Disconnect Switches to suit NH fuses (size 000 to 3). You can purchase online or contact our friendly sales staff for assistance.

How does an NH Disconnect Switch Work?

NH disconnect switches (also known as NH fuse switch disconnectors) are a fully enclosed NH fuse holder that feature a hinged door. The NH fuse(s) are fitted to the open door panel. When the door is closed, the fuse blades are pressed into the holder contacts which are connected to electrical cables. Opening the door, breaks the electrical circuit as the fuses are pulled from the contacts.

IP20 Protection

Our NH disconnect switches provide IP20 protection to ensure that fingers do not come into contact with electricity flowing through the unit when the cover is open.
